AMEB(WA) PIANOS

AMEB(WA) is pleased to announce their acquisition of Kawai Pianos for their examination rooms at The University of Western Australia, Claremont.

The pianos include:

1 x SHIGERU KAWAI SK2 GRAND PIANO
3 x KAWAI K6 UPRIGHT PIANO
1 x KAWAI K3 PIANO

The pianos are supplied by Zenith Music.

The grand piano and one of the K6 upright pianos is housed in our main examination room, Room 1, providing candidates with a choice of instrument for their examination, to reflect their preference and experience.

However, it will still be necessary on occasions to schedule piano examinations in another of our examining rooms. A newly refurbished and equipped room upstairs, Room 3, houses one of the other K6 Upright pianos.

The pianos were installed in March 2007 in the following sequence:

Main examination room, Room 1, with both the Shigeru Kawai SK2 Grand Piano and a Kawai K3 Upright Piano. This piano has recently been replaced by the Kawai K6:

One of the first candidates to be examined on the new pianos (in this case the Shigeru Grand) shows her enthusiasm for the experience with piano examiner and AMEB(WA) Academic Development Officer, Mr Barry Palmer.
